Dick was a lumbering settlement with a station on the Minneapolis, St. Paul & Sault Ste. Marie Railroad. The Dick Post Office was established on December 15, 1904 with Lemuel E. Green as its first postmaster. He was succeed by lumberman Elick G. Person on May 21, 1906 as postmaster.
The Dick Post Office discontinued operation on December 30, 1916; with mail service to Trout Lake.
