Lue Kirvan, 68, who told officers he had no home, is being held by sheriffs officers here for investigation into the burning of the home of John Dalgleish two miles west of Barbeau, late Sunday afternoon.
The Dalglish and stable were destroyed by flames appearing to have had their origin in a nearby straw stack. Klivan was claimed by neighbors to have been intoxicated and alone at the Dalglish home. Klivan told officers he didn't remember anything that happened.

Seven year old June Payment of Barbeau was accidently killed Thursday by a bullet from a 22 rifle in the hands of her sister Anna Payment, 17.
Preliminary examination indicated that the bullet intended for a hen which was to have been prepared for dinner pierced the girls heart. She crumbled on the farmyard without a sound putting an end to youthful laughter and play at the rear of Eli Payments home one mile east of Barbeau corner on the Neebish road.
Grief stricken parents and witness' told the story to Deputy Sheriff John McKee, Coroner Eli Cornell, and prosecuting attorney Alvin Dimma. There will be no inquest.

Loss of life was considerably lower than last season when 14 gunshot deaths were recorded. At least 17 were wounded this year. Ray McCullough, 24, of Barbeau, Chippewa County died today. He was wounded in the abdomen on the final day of the season when his shotgun fell from a log on which it rested and on which McCullough was standing.

Two youth, one of them stuck in the arm when his muzzle-loading gun exploded were recovering today from gunshot wounds suffered in accidents Sunday afternoon. One of the boys, Robert McIntyre, 10, of Barbeau, claimed he placed too much powder in the gun and when he fired, it exploded. Robert, the son of Guy McIntyre was treated by Dr. L.J. Hakala and sent home.

London Ohio - A Chippewa County Mich. couple died Monday when their car was hit broadside by a tractor trailer near here. Dead are George Albert Lawrence, 78 and his wife Clara 67, both of Barbeau. Both suffered fractured skulls.
