William LaLonde of the Soo transacted business here his week.

Wilford Jones, who has been employed at Mackinac island the past months returned home this week.

Mrs. Fred Jones visited friends at Drummond last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Meyers passed through here enroute for their home at Raber Friday.

Mrs. J. Bennett of Midway avenus entertaied a number of her friends at a quilting Saturday evening.

The young people of our village gave a delighted dancing party at Goetz hall Friday evening, in honor of Misses Julia Vogt and Janet Williamson and Earl Ellis who will soon leave DeTour.

School opened last Tuesday with W. D. McLean principal, and in the other departments the following teachers: Robert McDonald, Miss, Mae Lehman, Miss Lena Martell and Miss Margaret McKenzie.

Miss Winifred Melvin and Mable McAjams of Drummond spent Saturday here.

Thomas Montgomery and sons William and Murdock visited at the Soo last week.

Mrs. W. Topping went to Mackinac island on the steamer Kalamazoo Saturday to meet Mr. Topping, who returned with her Monday and will spend a few weeks here the guest of Mrs. McGinley.

Rev. H.J. Ellis returned Saturday from Escanaba, where he attended the convention of the Episcopal ministry of the diocese of Marquette.

Mrs. H.J. Ellis entertained the St. Stephens Guild Thursday.

Mrs. A. Porter visited Mrs. H. Hitchcock at the Soo, Monday.

Mrs. Morse of Manitowoc was the guest of Mrs. W.D. Hitchcock last week.

Miss Retta Anthony left Monday for St. Ignace to attend the I.O.O.F. convention as a delegate from the DeTour court of the I.O.O.F.

Mrs. W.D. Hitchcock is visiting friends at the Soo.

Attorney Reade is on a business trip to Cheboygan.

E.A. Sims made a business trip to the Soo Sunday.

Mrs. J.H.M. Flory and children of Pittsburg Landing visited friends here Saturday.

Mrs. Wallace McLarney, who has been enjoying an outing at Lime Island the past month returned to her home at the Soo Saturday.

The M.E. Sunday school enjoyed a picnic Saturday

Myrtle Trickey, 12, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Trickey owner of a DeTour bakery, was drowned near the DeTour mill slip Tuesday.
