G. R. & I. R. R. Depot, Sand Lake, MI (1915) - contributed by Paul Petosky Sand Lake is located on the northeastern border of Kent and Montcalm counties.
The town was founded in 1878 and become one of the first stations north of Grand Rapids on the G.R.
and Indiana Railroad line. Today, Sand Lake is primarily a tourist community but retains its small town atmosphere.
