Hi Everyone -- My name is Christine Walters . Luce County is
up for adoption but I'll
be watching over things until we find a permanent host.
If you think you'd be interested in hosting this county (or any other Michigan county) -- please visit our
Volunteer Information Page for the details.
Luce county is yet another of Michigans beautiful places. Located in the upper peninsula and about as far north as you can go
without getting your feet wet. If you have any information you'd like to share about Luce County be sure and send it to me. We'd like to hear about your pioneer family and get to know them. Tell us about the early
churches, schools, buildings, towns and business.

Luce County is located in the northeastern part of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, along the southern shores of Lake Superior.
Luce County's biggest claim to fame is the extraordinarily beautiful Tahquamenon Falls, featured in the photo above taken by
Dick Lund on his fall trip through the Upper Peninsula.
Tahquamenon Falls is the second largest falls east of the Mississippi. Luce county is still a wide open wilderness with about 1/2 of the county in the Lake Superior State Forest.
The county seat is Newberry. The county is named for Michigan Governor,
Cyrus Luce, who served from 1887 to 1890. If you ever want to just gaze on pure "beauty" - take a trip to Luce County.
