ADA MAY (BARBER) THAYER
, 78 of Germfask died at 2:05 p.m. Friday in Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for one week. She had been in failing health for three weeks.
She was born in Siawassee County Sept. 22. 1887 and moved to Germfask 25 years ago. She was the former Ada Barber. Her marriage to Mr. Thayer took place in Tawas City on Aug. 4, 1922 Surviving are her husband and eight sons Alfred Allen of Royal Oak, Alvin Allen of Germfask, Wilard Allen of Goodrich, Mich., Frank Allen in California and William Allen, Petersburg, VA., Edward Thayer of Battle Creek and Iver Thayer of Germfask; and on daughter, Mrs. Loren (Ada) Wisher of Howard City, Mich. Also surviving are five brothers, Patrick of Newberry, George Barber of Long Lake Mich., Stacy Barber of Hale Lake, Judd and Ervin Barber of Flint; three sisters, Mrs.Ted Riley of Hale Lake, Mrs. Norman Ballard of Sage Lake and Mrs. George Krueger of Flint; 38 grandchildren 32 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Messier-Broullire Funeral Home beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services are scheduled tentatively Monday at 2 p.m. at the Community Church in Curtis. Burial wil l be in the Curtis Cemetery.

JOHN THIBAULT
, known as "Johnnie" Thibault, 98, of St. Ignace, enjoyed a career in refrigeration repair for many years, and was a World War II veteran. Mr. Thibault died Saturday, November 10, 2007, at Mackinac Straits Hospital.
Mr. Thibault lived in his home until age 98, and had been a very active person who had many friends in the St. Ignace and Mackinac Island area. He was well known for his "one liners," friends said, and always had a joke.
He was born August 14, 1909, in St. Ignace to Leon and Armaline (nee Tromblay) Thibault.
In spite of his limited formal education, Mr. Thibault became an expert in refrigeration and a member of IBEW Union of Electricians. He was known to perform service work that kept refrigeration units working for years after they had exceeded their life span, friends said, especially working on Mackinac Island, in Mackinaw City, and St. Ignace.
He attended the Ursuline Academy, served in the Merchant Marines during WW II, and was a member of the VFW. He also was a longtime member of Moose Lodge 999, and St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church.
Mr. Thibault is survived by his sons and their families, John E. and Jean Thibault Sr., Joseph and Pat Thibault, and Jerry and Helen Thibault, all of St. Ignace, Larry and Barbara Thibault of East Troy, Wisconsin; a special friend and caregiver, Rita Ekstrom; 12 grandchildren and their families, and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph, Eddie, Alfred, Mary Adele, and Margaret Allen.
Friends may call at Dodson Funeral Home Wednesday, November 14, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m.
Services will be Thursday, November 15, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church with Father Al Mott and Deacon Don Olmstead officiating. Some of his grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery.

IRENE (HISER) THOMPSON
, 79, of Cedarville, died Sunday, July 2,2006, at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie.
She was born December 20,1926, in St. Ignace to Frederick and Helen M. (nee O'Kelly) Hiser.
Mrs. Thompson enjoyed knitting, cooking, gardening,oil painting, and working on the farm. She was a Cub Scout den mother. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the St. Matthias Episcopal Church and Ladies Auxiliary in Pickford, as well as the Law-White VFW Post #7958 Ladies Auxility in Hessel.
She is survived by four sons and their families, Dennis and Laura Thompson of New Market, Virginia, Andrew and Sharon Thompson of Rudyard, Wilfred Thompson of Cedarville, and Bruce and Debbie of Hessel; 14 grandchildren and their families, Danielle and Duane Litten, Eliabeth "Lisa" and Rick Provenzano, Rebecca "Becky" Suqua, Tracy Schupp, Paul and Ester Thompson, Brenda and Jeff Stevens, and Kylie, Doug, Kevin, Cody, Jason, Brandy, Micheal, and Katie Thompson; 15 great-grandchildren, Duane Jr., Kyle, Hunter, Amanda, Anna, Andrew "Dale", Ericka, Alaina, Gregory, Jillian, Logan, Travis, Lee, Taylor, and Collin. Also surviving are four sisters and their families, Jennie Hart of St. Ignace, Mrs. Thompson's twin Iris Winberg of Cedarville, Helen Thayer of Sterling Heights, and Laura and Leo Wilson of Midland, and one sister-in-law, Dora Hiser of St. Ignace.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Otto B. Thompson, on September 16,2003, by four brothers, LeRoy, Franklin, Anson, and Fred Hiser.
Visitaion will be held Wednesday, July 5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Reamer Gale Funeral Home in Pickford. Services will be in held Thursday, July 6, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cottle Cemetery in Marquette Township. Paul, Jason, Michael, Cody, Douglas, and Kevin Thompson, Duane Litten, and Lee Stevens will serve as pallbearers.
