SAM ECKERT
Employe of Leisen & Henes Brewing Company dies Monday morning. Samuel L. Eckert an employe of the Leisen & Henes Company for the past 24 years, died at 4:30 o'clock Monday morning at his home, 115 Stephenson Avenue. Liver trouble is given as cause of death. Mr. Eckert was employed for many years as driver for the local brewing company, but following an illness which he suffered a few years ago, as the result of being struck by lightning, he had been employed as Barrel Boss by the Leisen & Henes Company. He was born in Germany fortyseven years ago and came to this country in 1881, locating in Menominee, where he had since resided. Besides his wife , he is survived by two sons, Ssmuel Eckert Jr and Frank Eckert. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock from the church of the Epiphany. The Sons of Herman Society, of which he was a member, will attend the funeral in a body.

, of Arlington Heights IL Funeral services for Harold G. Ekman, 87, formerly of Park Ridge IL will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Road (at Cumberland), Park Ridge. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Born in Daggett, Mich., he passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2005. Mr. Ekman was past grand master of the International Order of Svithiod, member of Verdandi Lodge #3, I.O.S., Knights of Columbus, Maria Council, a licensed funeral director for 67 years, past president of F.D.S.A., a member of I.F.D.A., honorary member of the Swedish Glee Club, and a recipient of the Northstar Commemorative Decoration. Harold was the beloved husband of Virginia M. (nee Jacoby) for 63 years; dear father of Barbara Hennigan, Mary Jo Ekman (Robert) Willdigg and Robert E. (Karen); loving grandfather of Scott Michael (Lisa) Grendel, Kerri Grendel, Lindsey A. Ragsdale and Kelly, Brad and Kyle Krumwiede; great-grandfather of Jacob Ryan Grendel; and fond brother of Lenore (Al) Waltman and the late Earl.
