The East Saginaw Post Office was established on September 15, 1851
(also spelled East Saganaw in the 1850s).

Alfred M. Hoyt was the first postmaster.

Name changed to Saginaw East Side on March 17, 1892.

Name changed to Saginaw on June 24, 1898 and still operating using zip code 48605.
