OBITUARIES

HARTT, Edward N. (1862-1937)
Funeral services were held Sunday for Edward N. Hartt who died Thursday (October 7, 1937) at his home north of Kingston (Tuscola County) of a heart ailment. He was born in Sanilac County in October, 1862 and came to Kingston at the age of twenty years. He held a number of township offices. He was justice of peace for 41 years and a member 0f the Masonic lodge for the past twenty years. Mr. Hartt married Miss Harriet Legg, at North Branch (Lapeer County) on April 5, 1887. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last April. He is survived by his widow Harriet and six children: Mrs. Ella Mapley of Pontiac, Mrs. Bessie Hopps of Highland Park, Miss Alice Hartt of Detroit, Ross and Barton of Detroit and Basil of Pontiac. Sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Burial was in the Kingston Cemetery

SHREAVE, Minnie
, wife of J. C. Shreeve, died at their home, on Aurora street, Highland Park, Wednesday, at the age of 43 years. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, who will take the body to Fair Grove, Mich., for interment.

SHOOK, Malton Eugene
- 912 Scheurmann Road, Essexville, age 68 years, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, November 21, 1977. He was born in Tuscola County on June 17, 1909, but had been a Bay County resident most of his lifetime. Surviving are his wife Mary Shook, three sons, Theodore G. Shook, William M. Shook and James F. Shook, all of Bay City, 11 grandchildren, one brother Walter Shook of Bay City, three sisters, Mrs. Grace Herrington of Detroit, Mrs. Viola Techlin and Mrs. Agnes Halstead, both of Bay City. Mr. Shook was a retired truck driver for James House and Sons. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and Teamsters Local 488. The funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Stapish East (Essexville) with Rev. David W. Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Gilford Cemetery, Tuscola County. Memorials to the American Cancer Society are available at the funeral home. Friends may call at Stapish East after 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
