FRANK CHRISTOPHER COOK

Manager Michigan Inspection Bureau, fire insurance; born, New Haven, Conn., June 22, 1839; son of Russell and Maria (Ives) Chapman; educated in public schools and in private schools of L. M. Mills and Dr. Thomas, New Haven, Conn.; married, Thorndike, Mass., Aug. 24, 1875, Ella L. Leete. Began active career as member of firm of R. Chapman & Sons, New Haven, 1866; was in charge of fire insurance agency, New Haven, 1873; special agent Phoenix and Queen Insurance co's, Chicago, 1878; secretary Board of Fire Underwriters, Cleveland, 1886; inspector Michigan Inspection Bureau Detroit, 1891, and since 1906 has been owner and manager of the bureau. Was member 2nd Regt., Conn. Vols., 1861. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Mason (32), Shriner. Member Detroit Post No. 384, G. A. R. Office: Wayne County Bank Bldg. Residence: 687 Trumbull Av.

FRANK CHRISTOPHER COOK

Frank Christopher Cook , admitted to the bar in 1895 and since that time a representative of the legal profession in Detroit, was born in Hartford, Connecticut, December 25, 1871, and is a son of Michael J. and Ellen (Gnnley) Cook. He pursued a public school education in his native city and afterward becamo a student in the law department of the University of Michigan, where he won the LL. B. degree upon the completion of his course as a member of the class of 1895. The same year he opened an office In Detroit, where be has remained.

In Bay City, Michigan, in 1902, Mr. Cook was united in marriage to Miss Frances Conway and they have become the parents of a son, John G. The religious faith of the family is that of the Roman Cathplic church and Mr. Cook is identified with the Knights of Columbus. He is a member of the Lawyers Club of Detroit, also of the Detroit Board of Law, the Bar Association of Detroit, the Michigan State Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and his colleagues and contemporaries in the profession speak of him in terms of warm regnrd because of his close conformity to tho ethical principles and standards of legal practice.
