JAMES S. GOODRICH

Born, Blissfield, Mich., (Lenawee Co) Apr. 26, 1843; son of Nelson L. and Ruth (Pease) Goodrich; educated in public schools of Blissfield, Adrian College Preparatory School, Bryant & Stratton Commercial College, Detroit, graduating, 1864; married at Detroit, Feb. 22, 1876, Clara I. Jenness. Worked on farm until 21 years of age; was in employ of David Preston, banker, Detroit, until Jan. 1, 1884, since which time has been identified with real estate business, first with his brother, John C., under style of Goodrich Bros., and operating as above since death of his brother, 1907. Republican. Congregationalist. Member Masonic order. Club: Detroit Boat. Recreation: Boating. Office: Walker Blk., Fort and Griswold Sts. Residence: 67 Edmund Place.

Insurance, loans and real estate; born, Blissfield, Mich., (Lenawee Co) June 26, 1864; son of Nelson Lyman and Clarissa Cornelia (Parshall) Goodrich; graduate West Blissfield (Mich.) High School, 1881; married at Detroit, Nov. 7, 1889, Viella Tuttle. Entered insurance business, December, 1881, with late brother, John C. Goodrich; was with Goodrich Bros., 1884-1901; founded Goodrich Insurance Agency, Jan. 1, 1901, of which has since continued the head. Republican. Baptist. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Member Palestine Lodge No. 357, F.&A.M., King Cyrus Chapter No. 133, R.A.M., Michigan Sovereign Consistory (32º), Moslem Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S., all of Detroit. Recreation: Traveling.
