ALFRED K. KIEFER

banker; born, Detroit, Mich; July 12, 1852; son of Herman and Frances (Kehle) Kiefer; graduate Bishop Union School, Detroit, June, 1867, and Detroit High School, June, 1870 and Detroit Business College, 1871; attended School of Mines, Columbia College, New York City, 1870-71; School of Mines, Freiberg Saxony, 1873-77, School of Mines, Berlin, 1877-78; returned to the United States and engaged in mining in Utah and Colorado, 1878-81; married at Detroit, May 12, 1879, Fannie Weber. Entered banking business at Detroit, Mar. 1, 1882, and is now secretary and treasurer of The Wayne County Savings Bank; treasurer and director Michigan Sulphite Fibre Co.; president Nipigon Transit Co.; secretary and director North Shore Timber Co. ARTHUR E. KIEFER

Born, Detroit, Aug. 19, 1856; son of Hermann and Frances (Kehle) Kiefer; educated in public schools and German Seminary, Detroit, and at Poltechnic of Karlsruhe and Munich, Germany, graduating from Engineering Department, degree of M.E., 1880; married, Detroit, Dec. 9, 1884, Kate Reed Baker. Engaged as surveyor and mechanical draughtsman, 1880 to 1885; was one of the founders of the Detroit Edge Tool Works, of which has been secretary and treasurer since its organization. Republican. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Recreation: Travel. Office: Wight St. and Mt. Elliott Av. Residence: 241 Seminole Av.

GUY LINCOLN KIEFER

Physician; born, Detroit, Apr. 25, 1867; son of Herman and Franciska (Kehle) Kiefer; graduate Washington Union (public) School, 1880; Detroit High School, 1884; University of Michigan, degree of A.B., 1887, A.M. and M.D., 1891; married at Toledo, May 2, 1893, Josephine Fannie Henion. Began practice 1893; county physician Wayne Co., 1895-96; city physician City of Detroit, 1897-98; U.S. pension examiner, 1898-1901; health officer City of Detroit since 1901. Adjunct professor of hygiene and clinical medicine, Detroit College of Medicine; president Michigan Cremation Association. Member Wayne County Medical Society (ex-president), Michigan State Medical Society, American Academy of Medicine, American Medical Association, American Public Health Association. Republican.
