Mark Sloman

Born, Germany, June 11, 1833; son of Samuel and Sarah (Levi) Sloman; educated in Germany; came to America, 1851; married, Detroit, 1853, Amelia Schlesinger. Began business career in America, at Ypsilanti, Mich., as an itinerant merchant, in 1851; established headquarters in Detroit and was employed by George H. Samuel Alexander Sloman

Born, Detroit, Jan. 3, 1858; son of Mark and Amelia (Schlesinger) Sloman; educated in public schools of Detroit; unmarried. Began business career as member of firm of Fechheimer Bros., 1879, continuing until 1884; then went to New York City and engaged in wholesale grocery business; returned to Detroit in 1900 as a member of the firm of M. Sloman & Co., dealers in furs and wools. Also director Standard Sanitary Co.; member firm of William Wertheimer & Co., Dayton, O., and Wheeling, W. Va. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Adolph Sloman

Lawyer; born, Detroit, Sept. 12, 1859; son of Mark and Amelia (Slesinger) Sloman; educated in graded and high schools, Detroit, and Law Department, University of Michigan, graduating, LL.B., spring of 1879; married at Detroit, Nov. 29,1881, Lottie L. Teichner. Admitted to the bar at age of 20, and conducted his first case in supreme court before arriving at age; member law firm of Sloman & Sloman. Candidate for circuit judge Wayne County Circuit Court, 1906, and was defeated. Vice president Detroit Alaska Sock Co., Detroit. Member Michigan State Bar Association (president, 1902-03), American Bar Association. Delegate appointed by Governor Warner to Divorce Congress, held at Philadelphia, Nov. 13-14, 1906; member citizens’ committee, appointed to draft law making St. Clair Flats a public reserve. Hebrew. Eugene Hugo Sloman

Broker; born, Detroit, Juen 8, 1866; son of Mark and Amelia (Schlesinger) Sloman, educated in public schools at Detroit; married at Detroit, Aug. 19, 1900, Pauline Higer. Began active career, 1884, in employ of Frank & Marks, country store, Ortonville, Mich., continuing until 1886; then went to Fremont, Neb., and was connected with the office of Sloman Bros., saddlery and acted as traveling representative of the company until 1889; returned to Detroit, 1889, and entered the brokerage business in which has since continued.
