Began business career as office boy in employ of C.W. Restrick, lumber merchant, 1887, and became general manager of the company; severed connection with the company, 1900, and organized with F.W. May, the F.W. May Lumber Co.; bought out partner and has since operated alone as M.J. Theisen; also bought out the old West Side Lumber Co., and formed the Central Lumber Co., of which was president until June 1, 1907, when he became owner; founded The M.J.
