Wedding June 27, 1953

The Detroit News June 29, 1953

The last week-end of June, traditionally the month of brides, is over, and well might it be remembered for its almost ceaseless schedule of weddings. One of the first to take place was the 5 o'clock ceremoney Friday at Christ Church, Grosse Pointe, which united Judith Anne Frost and Robert Hudson Kansler.

Saturday afternoon found Grosse Point Memorial one of the most populated spots in the entire day. At 3 o'clock, Edith Joanne Gay became the bride of Harry Andrew Downer.

Wedding guests scarly had time to clear the church when another set began arriving for the 4 o'clock nuptials of Betty Lou Givens and Lt. Leigh B. Middleditch Jr. There was still another influx of guests one hour later who had been bid to the wedding of Annette Baker Torrey and Francis Peck.

The pictures on the page today show each of the above mentioned couples just a few moments after they had been pronounced man and wife, and as such they sympolize the radiant happiness ofhundreds of other young couples who in years to come will celebrate their wedding anniversaries during the magic month of June.
