Mr. and Mrs. Charles Geisinger (Carroll County IL) received a letter this week from their grandaughter Lucille Thompson of Detroit telling of the tragic death of her uncle Henry Thompson. Details were not given but she said her uncle's body was found last Wednesday in his gargage - the motor of his car running and apparently he had died from the effects of the carbon monoxide fumes from the motor. Police officials however are not inclined to think the death was accidental in view of various facts connected with the case. A few years ago Mr. Thompson's son was kidnapped and held for $35,000.00 ransom by a gang of criminals. Mr.Thompson paid the ransom after a considerable length of time but managed to outwit the gang and later brought about the arrest and conviction of the men who were sentenced to serve 99 years in prison. A large part of the ransom was found and returned to Mr.Thompson. Since that time he has received several threats and has had a body guard nearly all the time. Feeling that his life was really in danger he sold his Detroit property and moved with his family to California. About a year ago he returned to Detroit and again bought a home there. Next week we hope to have further details to give and hope also that the police will have the mystery solved.
