Fatal Fire in House at Amboy, Minn.
"Duluth News-Tribune", April 07, 1911 - KT - Sub by FoFG mb

AMBOY, Minn., April 6 — A fatal accident occured today on the C. J. Riley farm. Mrs. Riley went down into the basement and it is supposed that she lighted a match, and that gas leaking from a lighting plant exploded. Her clothing, as well as the house was set on fire, and before the family could come to her assistance she was burned to death. Her husband ran down into the cellar through the fire and brought out the body of his wife being himself severely burned. With the aid of his children and the neighbors he succeeded in saving the house, although it was considerably damaged.
