Clay County to Benefit
Washington May 23. -- Representative Steenerson today received notice from the post office department that an inspector would be sent to Clay County, in his district, to reorganize rural delivery routes. Mr. Steenerson said that Clay County was one of the first in Minnesota to be covered by rural delivery service, but that the service has not kept pace with the growth of the county and many families are not included in existing routes. Banner of Norway Can Be Displayed
Washington May 31 -- Citizens of Hitterdal, Clay County Minnesota, who took exception to the action of one of their neighbors in hoisting a Norwegian flag over his residence, will have to grin and bear it. Their neighbor is acting within his right, and he can display the Norwegian flag as long as he is so disposed. The case was brought to the attention of the war department by Representative Steenerson, at the instance of Adolph Jahr of Hitterdal. The Judge advocate general of the army informed Mr. Steenerson that there is no law that prohibits a private citizen from flying any foreign flag.
