CHRISTIANSON, William
William C. Christianson, 92, a judge in Minnesota's first judicial district for 14 years before retiring in 1963,
who also had served as a justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court before going to Germany in 1947 as a judge at the
Nuremberg trials of Nazi war criminals, died May 27 at a nursing home in Red Wing, Minn. The cause of death was
not reported.
He was one of three judges to serve on the tribunal that tried and convicted industrialist Friedrich Flick. He
then served as presiding judge at the trials, which lasted until the spring of 1949. Most of the 21 defendants,
who included SS generals and directors of Nazi programs, were convicted of planning aggressive war and other war
crimes. add d Russell L. Davis, 82, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates from 1965 to 1971, who along with
his father was one of the few Republicans ever to represent Franklin County in the legislature, died May 26 at
a hospital in Roanoke. The cause of death was not reported.
He practiced law from 1926 until shortly before his death. He was elected to the first of three terms to the state
House of Delegates in 1965. His father, B.A. Davis Sr., won election to the state Senate to represent Franklin

DALEN, Olen S.
Canby Resident Buried
Oregon City, December 6.-(Special.)-
Olen S. Dalen, a well-known resident of Canby, who died at the family home, December 3, was buried this afternoon.
The services were held at the residence, and were conducted by Rev. Mr. Resoing.
Interment made in the Norwegian Lutheran cemetery, near Canby.
Mr. Dalen was born September 3, 1872, in Goodhue County. Minnesota, and moved to Clay County, Minnesota, in the
spring of 1883. He arrived in Canby in March, 1910
He was at one time connected with the A. H. Averill Machinery Company of Portland.
He is survived by his widow, three children, Wallace, Evelyn and Owen, two brothers and two sisters. [Oregonian
