- STAUBUS WEDDING
A
Happy Event Takes Place At The Residence of J.H. Staubus.
The
residence of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Staubus on
Miss
Ura Staubus, a sister of the bride, acted as ring bearer. The bridal couple were
escorted into the presence of the guests by Miss Maxwell, while Miss Grace Smith
presided at the organ.
The
bride wore a gown of white silk and carried a bouquet of white roses. The groom
wore the conventional black.
The
rooms were beautifully decorated with roses and ferns, and above the bridal pair
hung drapings of lace from he center of which suspended the wedding bell.
After
congratulations had been extended the party sat down to a dainty wedding
banquet.
The
contracting parties are well known young people of
Mr.
and Mrs. Bloom were the recipients of many beautiful and useful gifts. They left
on the early morning train for the cities. They will return and take up their
residence here and will be at home to their friends after June 1st.

Bliefernicht-Meyers
The
residence of Mr. and Mrs. O.W. Deichoff was the scene of a private wedding last
Sunday evening, when Miss Martha Bliefernicht, a sister of Mrs. Dieckhoff, was
united in bonds of holy matrimony to Mr. H.S. Meyers, our popular druggist. The
ceremony was performed by the Rev. Edwin W. Lanham in the presence of a few
immediate relatives of the contracting parties. Mr. and Mrs. Meyers left on the

and has been a resident of the county for many years. The bride is a popular
young lady of Bigelow township, highly esteemed by all who know her for her many
womanly qualities.

The
marriage of Miss Katie Poppen to Mr. Arthur E. Smith was celebrated on Wednesday
afternoon at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. Poppen of

Darling-Langley
Mr.
Avin Langley of Rolette, North Dakota, and Miss Eva Darling were united in
marriage at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Darling, in this
city at six o'clock Tuesday evening. The ceremony was performed by Rev. G.A.
Cahoon. Miss Sadie Darling sister of the bride was bride's maid, and Mr. Hillard
best man to the groom. Mrs. Cahoon played the wedding march. A bountiful wedding
supper followed the ceremony. Mr. Langley was formerly employed in J.M.
Addington's barber shop and is an agreeable and capable young man. The bride is
a graduate of our public schools and one of the successful teachers of the
county.

Gutzler-Dean
Mr. Frank G. Dean and Miss Clara E. Gutzler were quietly married at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. Patterson Wednesday at twelve o'clock. The ceremony was performed in the presence of a few friends by Rev. G.A. Cahoon. After the service a bountiful repast was provided.
Mr. and Mrs. Dean are both well and favorably known in the community. The groom is a Nobles county boy and has grown to manhood among us, while the bride has resided here for the past five years. They have a large circle of friends who are pleased to have them settle among us. They will go to house keeping in the residence owned by the groom situated on Burlington Avenue.
The Advance unites with many others in extending most hearty congratulations.

Hallisey-Brazel
Wednesday morning at the St. Adrian church occurred the marriage of John Brazel of Mitchell, S.D., to Miss Grace Hallisey of Adrian. Rev. Father Schels officiating. The happy couple left on the 4:18 p.m. train for their future home at Mitchell, S.D. The citizens band gave the couple a fine serenade at their departure as a token of the high esteem in which the bride was held at home. Congratulations and best wishes.

Hoffman-Morgan.
The Hoffman residence in the village of Round Lake was the scene of a very pretty home wedding on Thursday, Feb. 8th, when Miss Lydia Hoffman was married to Mr. Frank Morgan, also of that village. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Edwin W. Lanham of Worthington, and was witnessed by a large company of relatives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Morgan are well and favorably known young people of Round Lake and have a large circle of friends whom we join in extending congratulations.

Mr. Ernest Borst and Miss Josephine May Shallers were united in marriage by Rev. G.A. Cahoon at ten o'clock Tuesday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cahoon. These young people are both well known and have the best wishes of a circle of friends. They will reside at Odebolt, Iowa, where the groom has a position. Mr. and Mrs. Borst left on the afternoon train for Iowa points. We would rather see our young people settle in Nobles county but extend congratulations just the same.

At noon, Thursday, Isaac Evans, a well known engineer of the Omaha railroad, and Miss Grace Jones, for a number of years in charge of the telephone central at Heron Lake, were married at the residence of the bride's parents in that village. Both have many friends in Worthington who will join the Advance in extending hearty congratulations and well wishes.

Moberly-Poland
The friends of Miss Lura Moberly will be interested to learn of her marriage on New Years Day to Mr. Chadwell Poland at Denver, Colo., Rev. Vosburg of the First Baptist church of Denver officiating.
Mrs. Poland is a former Worthington girl raised from childhood here and a graduate of the "High School Class of '93" and of the Mankato Normal school, and has been associated with the schools of Noble County as teacher for the past ten years.

On Tuesday, February 20th, Justice C.W.W. Dow united in marriage Mr. James Brown, of Dickinson county, Iowa, and Miss Edith Holbrook of this county. Immediately after the wedding the young people departed for their future home in Dickinson county where Mr. Brown is a successful farmer.

SMITH-TUPPER NUPTIALS.
Prominent Worthington Young People Married on New Years Day.
Banker Tupper's Residence the Scene of a Happy and Auspicious Event.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. C.T. Tupper, on Fourteenth street, was the scene of a happy and auspicious event on the evening of New Years day, when their daughter, Miss Pearl Gilmore Tupper, was married to Mr. Robert Ross Smith of this city. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Edwin W. Lanham, of the Presbyterian church, and was witnessed by a large assemblage of relatives and friends of the two families. After congratulations had been extended the wedding party sat down to a daintily appointed banquet.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith left on the early morning train for Minneapolis where they will spend a short honey moon visiting relatives and friends.
Mr. Smith, the groom, is one of Worthington's most energetic and wide-a-wake young business men. He is a member of the Smith Implement Co, and has management of the extensive business of this firm. He is a native of Nobles county and a graduate of the Worthington High school, and has spent the greater portion of his life here. He is a young man of splendid character and fine ability and has already made a good start towards making his mark in the world.
The bride is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.T. Tupper. She is a young lady of fine education, and possesses many admirable qualities of mind, which endear her to all who know her.
The young people have a host of friends whom the Advance joins in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.

At the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Barnes in this city at ten o'clock Tuesday morning, March 6th occurred the marriage of their daughter, Matie Grace to Mr. J.F. Leahy, of Flasher, North Dakota. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Edwin W. Lanham, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian church.
In the afternoon the newly married couple departed for their future home at Flasher, North Dakota, where the groom owns a large horse ranch.
The bride has many friends in the city who extend hearty congratulations and best wishes for a long and unclouded wedded life.

Voss Lutterman
The pleasant farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Voss, in the town of Elk, was the scene of a happy and auspicious event on Thursday, March 8, when a wedding reception was given in honor of their daughters marriage, which was attended by about 150 relatives and friends of the families.
Mr. Henry Lutterman and Miss Kate Voss were married in Worthington on Thursday morning, they then drove to the home of the bride's parents for the reception.
Mr. and Mrs. Lutterman are prominent young people of their neighborhood, and have a large circle of friends, whom the Advance joins in extending congratulations. They will take up their residence on the Heuerman farm, eleven miles north of Worthington, where they will be at home to their friends in a short time.
