Friday afternoon Mesdames E.J. Wolven and Edward V. Voak entertained a party of
about forty ladies on the Wolven lawn. A very pleasant social afternoon was
enjoyed by those in attendance.

Misses Lear treated a party of young people to a sail boat ride last Friday
afternoon, followed by a picnic supper and campfire at the Foelschow grove. It
was a most enjoyable affair.

Alice Nystrom, who had a limb fractured last week, has been very sick. We hope
she will soon recover.

the best of our knowledge Wm. Wickstrom was the first farmer to commence haying
this year, putting up some hay stacks in June.
