I'm trying to find information on my g-g-grandmother's twin brother. His name was Ole or Olaf Swenson Basgaard and he was born on March 25, 1847. We believe he settled in Grand Forks, North Dakota. I'm attaching a copy of a story about his twin sister, Ingeborg (View her story on the Genealogy Trails Vernon County, Wisconsin site)
My records show that Ole/Olaf had a daughter, named Laura who married Albert Corliss who died in 1927. Laura was born on July 18, 1884 and died on February 12, 1982. Laura & Albert had 4 children who were named: Chester, Lester, Lila, and Blanch.
I would love to locate obituaries, death records, marriage records, census records - email at jformolo@wi.rr.com

Hauglid / Torgersen Family
Hans Torgersen Hauglid was born Hans Torgersen on November 21, 1847, in Hauglibakken, Skedsmo, Akershus, Norway, to Torger Hansen and Dorthea (Olsen) Hansen. He was christened December 25, 1847, in Skedsmo. Hans married Anne Marie Erickstatter on November 2, 1874, in Skedsmo, Norway. Anne was the daughter of Erik Olsen and Anne (Arinesen) Olsen, born June 24, 1853, in Meluch, Sorum, Akershus, Norway. Anne was christened September 18, 1853, in Sorum, Norway. Hans and Anne had the following eight children, all born in Norway.

Runghill, Raghill,? --
In 1889, Hans(42), Anne Marie(36), and their six living children, Anna Kristine(17), Oscar Wilhelm(13), Dagny Thora(11), Ludvig Helmer(8), Wilhelm Ingvald(4), Thomas or Torger(2) and Han's mother, Dorthea(66) left Norway, and came to Rock County, Minnesota. Hans' sister Elen, her husband Martin Ausen, and their three sons, Thorvald, Oscar and Erick came to America in June of 1881. Han's brother Adreas (Andrew) came to America, via the Port of Boston in June of 1886.
The name Hauglid did not come into being until they got to Rock County, Minnesota. Before, their last name was Torgersen. The reason given for changing their name, as reported by Herman Hauglid, was too many Torgersens here already, so they named themselves after a mountain(Mt Haug) in Norway.
Hans and family settled in Rock County. Hans worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker. In 1895, Hans(48), Anne Marie(42), (Oscar(19), Dagny(17), Hilmer Ludvig(14), Wilhellm(10), and Thomas(8), and Dorthea(71), moved from Rock County to their new farmland east of Angus, MN. Location: Township 153, Range 46, Polk Co., MN. Hans brought a team of horses, a covered wagon, a few household items and two cows. He also had a friend who had a wagon and team of mules, that hauled a load of stuff for them. The trip took 21 days. The children would ride in the wagon for a while and then get out and run around for a while, very tough trip, no roads, lots of water everywhere. The men were wet most of the time, lots of mud holes. One wagon would get stuck in a mud hole and they would put both teams on one wagon to pull it through, then go back after the other wagon and do the same thing. They had two cows tied behind the covered wagon during the whole trip so they would not run away.
Dagny (Hauglid) Sponheim said when Hans and family moved to Angus, MN, they left in a covered wagon, and Andrew, Emma and Dagny followed them as far as Pipestone, MN, in a horse and buggy, about 30 miles from where they lived.
Hans was a charter member of the Melo Church and he drew the blueprints and was construction supervisor when they built that church.
Anne died October 20, 1900, and Hans died December 6, 1926. The following grave markers are located on the north side of the church, in the Melo Lutheran Church Cemetery, 5.4 miles east and 1.7 miles north of Angus, MN, on twp road # 23:
