Mrs. W. H. ( Mamie) Dean
Funeral services for Mrs. W. H. Dean were held last Tuesday in the First Baptist church with burial in the Worthington cemetery, the Rev. Frank McQuoid, offciating.
Mrs. Dean was born as Mamie Richards August 10, 1896, near Dodgeville, Wis. She attended schools near Dodgeville and her own mother died when she was nine years old. She was raised by Mrs. Maude Mitchell.
She married William Harry Dean April 2,1917, at Dodgeville. They came to Magnolia in 1923. Mrs. Dean became the mother of five children, all of whom survive her. She is also survived by her husband and her foster mother, Mrs. Mitchell.
Mrs. Dean was a member of the First Baptist church of Luverne, of the Royal Neighbors of America, and had been active in the Ladies Aid Society of the Magnolia Methodist church and other Magnolia civic activities.
Her children are William Dean, Monrovia, California: Richard H. Dean, of St. Paul, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Fletcher, of Rochester: Miss Lavonne Dean, Minneapois: and Vernon Dean of Magnolia. There are eight grandchildren.
Other survivors include two brothers, Thomas L. Richards of Hollywood, California and David R. Richards of Mineral Point, Wisconsin.
Pallbearers were Owen Stangeland, Floyd Reu, Sam Heronimus, Everett Wharton, Floyd Goembel and Joe Wiegel.
The Engebretson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
