Jordan, Minn. – Martin J. Casey, for nine years postmaster of this city, died at his home here Tuesday.


Alois Plut
Oldest Priest in Diocese Dies.
Shakopee, Minn., Feb. 22.— Monsignor Alois Plut, the oldest priest in the diocese of St. Paul, who died at the age of 76, will be buried here. Father Plut was born in Laibach, Austria, on June 2l, 1841. He came to the United States when 23 years old and was sent to the dioecese of St. Paul as a student. He was ordained to the priesthood Feb. 12, 1865. In July, 1889, he founded St. Matthew's parish at West St. Paul. He took charge of the parish at Shakopee in 1900 and was eleyated to the rank of monsignor in 1906.

Ervie Prenevost

Ervie Prenevost, 91, of Shakopee, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Shakopee.

He was born in Terrebonne, MN, Nov. 26, 1919 to Arthur and Emma (Sauve) Prenevost. Ervie and Doris G.

(Mosleth) were married March 13, 1945 at Fort Worth, TX.

Ervie was a licensed professional civil engineer and was employed as Assistant County Engineer for Todd County and Head Engineer for Yellow Medicine County and Scott County. He was a member of the St. Mark's Choir at St.

Mark's Catholic Church in Shakopee. Ervie served in the United States Army-Air Force during World War II and flew 36 missions over Europe. A member of the American Legion, he served as Commander of the Red Lake Falls Post and continued his membership in Shakopee at Post 2.

He is survived by son, Tim Prenevost of Charles City, IA; daughter, Pat (Kevin) Wishy of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Ali (Bruce) Platter, Chris (Brianna) Busch, J P (Rebecca) Prenevost, Kim (fiance Chris) Herman and Mike Herman; loving great-grandchildren, Paige, Peyton and Maryn; sister, Emmalynn Sullivan. He was preceded in death by wife, Doris; parents; brothers, Clarence and Pete; sisters, Frances and Lillian.

Visitation is Thursday, August 11 one hour prior to the Mass at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Shakopee. Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, Aug. 11, 10 a.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Shakopee with the Rev. Thomas Boedy SJ officiating. Pallbearers are Mike Herman, J P Prenevost, Chris Busch, Bruce Platter, Mike Hergott and Bob Schneider. Interment at Catholic Cemetery, Shakopee.

Funeral arrangements through McNearney Funeral Home in Shakopee.
