Armstrong Jr, Fount Ray
Mr. Fount Ray Armstrong Jr. died in Pensacola, Fla.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 5, 2010, at Ray Funeral Home with Dr. Greg McBride officiating. Burial will follow in Shelby Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010, at the funeral home.
Mr. Armstrong was born to Fount Ray Armstrong Sr. and Martha Armstrong in Rosedale on February 21, 1939.
Mr. Armstrong and Gerri Armstrong have been happily married since March 26, 1991. He was a retired farmer and restaurateur. He was a Mason and enjoyed woodworking and refinishing antique furniture. He was also famous for his cooking, especially barbecue and was known as "Mr. Bob E Que." Mr. Armstrong was at one time, a representative for the Memphis in May cooking event. He also enjoyed music-playing, singing, and listening to it.
He is preceded in death by his parents, F.R. and Martha Armstrong; and daughter, Suzan Armstrong Dye.
Mr. Armstrong is survived by his wife, Gerri Armstrong of Pensacola, Fla.; children, Nancy Armstrong Tierce (Will) of Cleveland, John Luther Armstrong of Cleveland, Amy Gates McLemore (Allison) of Cleveland, John Paul Gates (Leslie) of Cleveland and Randy Gates (Kimberly) of Grenada; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ray Dye Wilkins (Lee) of Jackson, Robyn Dye of Cleveland, Trey Tierce, Sarah Beth Tierce, and John Douglas Tierce, all of Cleveland, Wade McLemore, Austin McLemore, Amelia Gates, all of Cleveland, Mark Hollis, Brett Jordan, Elizabeth Jordan and Rusty Gates, all of Grenada, MS.
Pallbearers will be Charles T. Danna, Latham Britt, Charles Sizemore, Stevie Sizemore, John David Bassie and Jim Kurts.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Rosedale High School Class of 1957.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital.

Hicks, Rufus
CLEVELAND-Rufus Hicks, 84, died Sunday at Bolivar County Hospital here after an illness. Services were at noon
today at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church at Cleveland. Burial was at the Renova Cemetery. Watson Funeral Home
of Greenville had charge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Will Ester Hicks of Cleveland; a son, Melvin Collins
of Cleveland; three brothers, James Collins, Willie B. Collins, both of Alton, Ill., and Ralph Collins of Boyle;

Hobson, George F.
Dr. Geo. F. Hobson, 40 years old, died of pneumonia at Concordia

Johnson, Clifton
Clifton Johnson, 74, Rosedale, died Tuesday in Shelby Community Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services
will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Tree of Light Baptist Church in Waxasaw. Burial will follow in Riverton Cemetery
in Rosedale. Rev. S. L. Davis will officiate. Bea's Century Funeral Home of Greenville has charge. He leaves his
wife, Mrs. Lucille Johnson; three daughters, Ernestine Johnson of Chicago, Ill . , Claudia Ann Johnson of California,
and I, C. Mary Lee Johnson of Rosedale; three sons, Roy Johnson of Gary, Ind., Lewis Johnson of Sunflower, and
Lloyd Norman of Rosedale; one brother, Jessie Johnson of Raymond, 14 grandchildren , and nine great grandchildren.

Underwood, Julia Marshall
Julia Lee Marshall was born October 22, 1924 in Lamont, MS to the late Rev. Jonas and Josephine Marshall. She married
Humphrey Underwood III. She was a member of Mount Olive M.B. Church and later a member of C.A. Burks M.B. Church.
She was a member of the Mother Board and a Sunday School teacher. She was employed with the Bolivar County Headstart
Project for 20 years. Julia passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2007 at the Shelbrooke Nursing Facility in St.
Louis, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jonas and Josephine Marshall and her husband, Humphrey Underwood III.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Rebecca Capps, Lula Bell Lovings Lillie Bell Smith and Alice Botley
.
She leaves to cherish her beloved children, three sons, Joe Underwood, St.Louis,MO, Johnie Underwood, Philadelphia,PA,
and Jonas Underwood, Chicago, IL. two step-sons, Alonzo Woods, Chicago, IL and Elton Underwood, St. Louis, MO.
She leaves eight daughters, Juldrine Shelly and Julia Cephas, Chicago, IL, Charlene Underwood, Nashville,TN, Lillie
Underwood, St. Louis, MO, LeeVarris Underwood, Rosedale, MS, Ann Muhammad and Cheryl Underwood, Como,MS and Pauline
Underwood, Alexandria, VA. She also leaves to cherish her memories, thirty grandchildren, twenty-four great-children,
three sisters, Katie Cherry and Annette Marshall, Chicago, IL and Josie Mae Lee, McComb, MS a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins,and friends.
A celebration of life was honored for Julia Underwood, Saturday, February 16, 2008 in Rosedale, Mississippi at
Changing Your World Ministries, Elnora Littleton, Pastor and Charles McDavis, Officiating. Interment ,Mount Pleasant
Cemetary, Beulah, MS. Arrangements entrusted to Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville, MS.
