Beatrice Community
Originally known as Cooper’s Spur, this community was renamed by a French Catholic, Mr. Broad, who bought a saw mill, naming the area after his daughter Beatrice.
In earlier years, with Choctaw Indians in the area, it contained a company store, a depot for the New Orleans and North Eastern Railroad and the saw mill.
