D. A. Brannan, Deed Trust   To John Kamper                                                                 Filed for Record 19th April 1876

Know all men by these present that whereas D. A. Brannan, and justly indebted to John Kamper in the sum of One hundred & twenty-five Dollars for money and supplies advanced by him to enable one to carry on my farm in Clarke County, State of Mississippi, the present year which is evidenced by my promissory note for One hundred & twenty-five Dollars for money and supplies advanced by him to enable one to carry on my farm in Clarke County, State of Mississippi the present year, which us evidenced by my promissory note for One hundred and twenty-five Dollars bearing even date, herewith and due to John Kamper or bearer on the first day of October 1876 and whereas expect to buy other supplies and get other moneys from the said John Kamper during the year, which by agreement and to be charged against my on open account and to constitute a lien on my entire crops & other property herein conveyed.  Now therefore to secure the prompt payment of my entire indebtedness to the said said John Kamper on the first day of October 1876 and in consideration of the sum of ten dollars to me in hand paid by Jas. G. Lawson the receipt  of which is hereby acknowledged.  I do by these present bargain, sell, and convey unto the said Jas. G. Lawson as trustee and in trust the following described property now owned by me free from all incumbrance in Clarke County, to-wit, Two yokes of steers marked poplar leaf in right-ear, two cows & calves marked as above, also one ox wagon, and black horse mule called Jim, and the following agricultural products to be grown by me on my farm in Clarke County the present year to-wit.  My entire Crop of Corn & Cotton and I do hereby waive and relinguish (sic) every right of exemption under the statute law of Mississippi until my entire indebtedness to the said John Kamper either by note or open account is paid and should I fail or refuse to pay said note or whatever open account I may have made for the purpose aforesaid at the date of the maturity thereof, it shall be lawful for the said Jas. G. Lawson trustee herein named to sell the property hereby conveyed for cash at public auction after giving notice for ten days of the time & place of sale and shall apply the proceeds of said sale to the payment of said debt and the cost of executing this trust rendering the over plus, if any, to one or my legal representatives, and is the trustee herein named shall die or refuse from any cause to act then the said John Kamper is hereby authorized to appoint another trustee by a simple endorsement on this instrument who shall be vested with the same authority that the said Jas. G. Lawson is hereby clothed with, and it is understood that until the maturity of said indebtedness as aforesaid I am to remain in possession of the property  herein conveyed.

Personally appeared before me Chancery Clerk in and for said county the above named Drury Alan Brannan who acknowledged that he signed, sealed and delivered the foregoing deed of trust on the day and year therein mentioned as ___ act and deed.
