Bernice Houston “Pete” Campbell
Quitman, MS: Bernice Houston “Pete” Campbell, 70, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at his home in Quitman, Mississippi. He was born on September 5, 1936 in Clarke County, MS to Howard Arnold and Ruby Olivia Parker Campbell. He attended Mont Rose School, Cedar Creek School and Quitman High School. Pete enlisted in the U. S. Army and served eight years in Frankfurt, Germany as a Military Policeman and then in the base Post Office. Upon his return home, he began working at Southern Pipe & Supply in Meridian, being transferred to Baton Rouge, LA for twenty-three years. In 1986, he transferred back to Mississippi working at Southern Pipe & Supply Central Distribution Center until his retirement in 2000. He was a dedicated member of Cooper’s Chapel Church.
Pete leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 44 years, Shira Ann Little Campbell, daughters: Vicki Lynn Campbell Turner and his husband Russell and their children Taylor Nicole and Weston Brent of Baton Rouge, LA, Genealogy Trails Ann Campbell Reese and her husband Andrew and their children Darren Eugene and Kristyn Olivia of DeSoto, MS and Anissa Suzanne Campbell Green and her husband Jesse of Meridian, MS; his brother Hubert Albert Campbell of Denham Springs, LA, sisters: Tressie Merle Campbell King Johnson of Stonewall, MS and Susan Cornelia Campbell Hardin of Moss Point, MS. His memories are with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends in Mississippi and Louisiana including Richard “Dick” and Dora Erickson of Greenville, LA and Charles and Earlene Taylor of Livingston, LA.
Service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 2pm in the Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel in Quitman, MS. Officiating will be Pastor Barry Skelton and Rev. Dale Moore. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Enterprise, MS.

QUITMAN — Graveside services for Charlie C. Campbell will be held today at 2
p.m. at New Home Cemetery with the elder Stanley Phillips officiating. Wright’s
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Campbell, 71, of Quitman, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at
H.C.
Watkins
Memorial Hospital in Quitman.
Survivors include his brothers, Donald Campbell and Billy Campbell and a sister,
Doris Evans.

Howard Arnold Campbell
QUITMAN - Services were to be held at 10:30 am today in the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Van Hardin officiating. Burial was to be in Odd fellows Cemetery.
Campbell, 72, Route 1, Quitman, died Sunday at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Campbell, Quitman; two sons, Hubert A. Campbell, and Bernice H. Campbell, both of Baton Rouge, La.; two daughters, Mrs. Tressie King , Stonewall and Mrs. Susan C. Hardin, Moss Point; three brothers, Jim Campbell, Waynesboro, Ernest Campbell, Laurel, and Hubert R. Campbell, San Diego, Ca.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services for Ruby Parker Campbell were held January 29, 1995, at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Mrs. Campbell, 81, of Quitman, died January 27, 1995, at H. C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Hubert A. Campbell, Baton Rouge, LA; and Bernice "Pete" Campbell, Quitman; two daughters, Tressie Merle Johnson, Stonewall; and Susan C. Hardin, Moss Point; a sister, Nellie Lee Halbert, Montgomery, AL; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

WAYNESBORO — Services for Carrie Carter will be held today at 1 p.m. at Sweet
Pilgrim United Methodist Church in Shubuta with the Rev. Kevin Carter
officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Turner Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Carter, 69, of Shubuta, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at Jeff Anderson
Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry McFarland; a son, the Rev. Kevin Carter;
two brothers; one step-daughter; three step-sons and several grandchildren;
great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband.

Paul Covington
Paul Covington, age 6 of Quitman, Route Three, passed away December 31, 1941 at 4:30 p.m.
He is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Sim Covington and two brothers, James and Berry Covington; maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Brown of Quitman, Route Three.
Services were held Wednesday afternoon January 1, 1941 at 3:30 p.m. from Pleasant Hill church with Rev. E. C. Hendricks officiating. Interment followed in church cemetery.
McClellan and Walters Funeral home was in charge.
