The Longleaf Trace Companion

Besides being a great guide for someone who wants to utilize the Longleaf Trace recreational trail, it contains histories of the many old towns and communities along the old rail line that hauled lumber out of the area. The Longleaf Trace connects Hattiesburg and Prentiss MS, passing through the towns of Sumrall, Bassfield and Carson. In addition to mile-by-mile maps of the Trace, there are stories from some of the towns and communities along the way. Book available from the author at the link above.
