BENJAMIN TAFT ADELMAN
November 4, 1908 -- April 13, 2005
HATTIESBURG, MS --Benjamin Taft Adelman, formerly of Norwich, passed away Wednesday,
April 13, 2005, at the Windham House in Hattiesburg, MS, where he had resided for the last several years.
Born on November 4, 1908, the son of Samuel and Bea Adelman, he grew up and was educated in the Boston, MA area.
He was united in marriage for 49 years to Sally (Schwartz) Adelman, who preceded him in death in 1985. He is survived
by son Michael Adelman and wife Amy of Hattiesburg, MS, son David Adelman and his wife Faith of Norwich, two grandsons,
a greatgrandson, a greatgranddaughter, and several nieces. He was predeceased by his sister, Grace (Adelman) Stone.
In his early years, he worked for B&A Motors in Newton, MA and for Schwartz Brothers in Norwich, CT. In 1948
he established B&A Advertising Co. in Norwich, CT., which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1988.
For many years he was an active member of the Beth Jacob Synagogue in Norwich. He had also been a member of the
Norwich Lodge of Elks.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 8 at the Church & Allen
Funeral Home in Norwich. Burial to be at the convenience of the family. [Norwich Bulletin,

ELIZABETH HENZE BROWN
1929 -- April 29, 2009
Mrs. Elizabeth Henze Brown, 93, of Perkinston, Ms., died Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Mrs. Brown was born in Rusford, Minnesota. She moved to Janice, MS in 1929. She relocated to Big Level in 1930 and attended Big Level High School where she graduated in 1933. She attended cosmetology school in Hattiesburg for a year and began her career as a licensed beautician in Mount Olive, Ms. in 1934. Following this, she opened her Beauty Shop in Wiggins where she continued her career for 73 years until August 2008.
In March of 1999, Mrs. Brown received an Achievement Award in celebration of Women's History Month from the New Horizons program of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
In November of 2002, Mrs. Brown was recognized by the Stone Chamber of Commerce for being the county's longest established entrepreneur.
In March of 2009, while attending the Breaking Bricks for History ceremony on Pine Hill, Mrs. Brown was recognized by Mayor Jerry Alexander as the oldest attendee present. Mrs. Brown will be remembered for her devoted time to the community and church. She was known for her famous "foot tall cakes."
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, O.B. Brown; a brother, Maynard Henze; grandson, Ryan Parker; and great-grandson, Reese Main. She is survived by three daughters, Kathryn (Donnie) Parker of Perkinston, Linda Mizell of Gautier, and Roxie (Walter) Hatten of Perkinston; eight grandchildren, Lori Griffin, Myla Main, Britt Parker, Todd Parker, Treba Davis, Obey Parker, Nikki Niolet and Troy Mizell; and seven great-grandchildren, Logan Main, Madison Main, Dasha Parker, Cody Parker, Tristen Parker, Kasey Mizell and Christian Mizell. Visitation will be held Friday, May 1, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Moore Funeral Home followed by graveside services at the Brown Cemetery in Magnolia Community.
