Extensive improvements are to at once be made to Forest Park, one of Gulfport’s principal summer amusement resorts. Sid Johnson, contractor and builder of Meridian, has the contract for doing the work and has arrived on the grounds with a crew of men. The improvements will include a skating rink 75 by 152 feet, theater 60 by 140 feet, a half-mile pier, a fifty-room bath house, band stand, elaborate entrance, restaurant, etc. It is hoped to complete the work by June 1.

Mrs. Nora Kahler of Handsboro visited related in Lorraine this week.
Mrs. Mary Peterson of Lorraine, who has been confined to her home for some time, is doing better.
Capt. C. C. J. Peterson was a visitor to his family in Lorraine this week.
Mrs. J. M. Stiglets of Woolmarket visited relatives in Lorraine Wednesday.
Miss Pearl Stiglets, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Stiglets, of Lorraine is confined to her home with typhoid fever.
Mrs. R. F. Davis and daughter, Miss Susie Davis, of Nugent are spending awhile with relatives in Lorraine.
Little Miss Hattie Richards, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Richards, is confined to her home with a serious case of typhoid fever.
Miss Isa Stiglets, who has been visiting relatives near Woolmarket, has returned to her home in Lorraine.

The marriage of Miss Alma Duckworth, youngest daughter of Capt. And Mrs. B. Duckworth, to Mr. Eugene Marion Smith on April 28 at 10 o’clock a.m., at the home of the bride’s parents, has been announced.
Mr. Smith is bookkeeper for the Gulfport & Mississippi Coast Traction Company and is well known and much respected here.
Miss Duckworth is a charming young lady with a large circle of friends.
They will leave on L & N train No. 4 for Pensacola, Fla., for a short visit. Everyone wishes the happy young people a long and pleasant life together.
