Extensive improvements are to at once be made to
Forest Park, one of Gulfport’s principal summer amusement resorts. Sid Johnson, contractor and builder of
Meridian, has the contract for doing the work and has arrived on the grounds with a crew of men. The improvements
will include a skating rink 75 by 152 feet, theater 60 by 140 feet, a half-mile pier, a fifty-room bath house,
band stand, elaborate entrance, restaurant, etc. It is hoped to complete the work by June 1. [The Biloxi Herald, April 27, 1907]
Victor Montgomery, a bright young attorney
who has been in Gulfport several years is moving to Belzoni. For the past year or two he has been associated with
Judge Geo. S. Dodds in the practice of
law. Mr. Montgomery is quite popular and has lots of friends who regret his decision to move away.
