Jackson, Miss., Aug. 22 - The executive committee of the State Board of health this afternoon declared yellow fever epidemic at Mississippi City and placed Dr. Charles Le Baron in charge of the city to enforce such sanitary regulations as he may deem proper. [Dallas Morning News, Dallas, TX]
