Tribute To Joseph Cooper

Yesterday's Picayune contained the following tribute to Mr. Joseph H. Cooper, who died in that city some days ago:

The death of Mr. Joseph Henry Cooper, which occurred on last Monday morning at the residence of his cousin, Mrs. M.O. Reynolds, was a painful shock to his many friends, for, notwithstanding Mr. Cooper had been ill for some time, there was no indication of such a sudden end.

Mr. Cooper was born in the City of Mexico during a temporary sojourn of his parents in that country, and was 33 years of age at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Captain Joseph Cooper and Beatrice Moran. His father, who died several years ago, was very prominent in the shipping circles of New Orleans, in which business he amassed quite a fortune.

For the past four years Mr. Cooper spent most of his time in Biloxi, Miss., where he owned a most beautiful home, and where he engaged himself in business. By strict attention to his commercial pursuits he had become very successful, and his death is very deeply deplored by all in the little seaside town.
