Jefferson Davis County Books and References The Longleaf Trace Companion Besides being a great guide for someone who wants to utilize the Longleaf Trace recreational trail, it contains histories of the many old towns and communities along the old rail line that hauled lumber out of the area. The Longleaf Trace connects Hattiesburg and Prentiss MS, passing through the towns of Sumrall, Bassfield and Carson.
