Larry Gerald Anderson
Larry Gerald Anderson, 54, of Jackson, formerly of Laurel, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at Regency Hospital in Hattiesburg.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, at East Jerusalem Full Gospel Church in Laurel, with burial in Nora Davis Cemetery. The Rev. Willie Hines will officiate.
He held a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree and a specialist degree in education. He was presented with an award entitled “Beyond The Call Of Duty” for the extra efforts he gave in educating his students both inside and outside the classroom. He was a member of East Jerusalem Baptist Church and, while residing in Jackson, he became a member of Word of Life Universal Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Anderson.
He is survived by his father, Willie B. Anderson of Laurel; three brothers, Ravell Anderson, Richard Anderson and Paul Anderson, all of Laurel; three nephews, Dominique Anderson, Ricky Anderson and Jonathan Anderson, all of Laurel; four uncles and their spouses, J.R. and Lillie Spencer of Cross City, Fla., Eddie and Gennie Spencer of Shreveport, La., Andrew and Ida Anderson of Racine, Wis., and Albert and Marie Anderson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three aunts, Zola Bell of Atlanta, Ga., and Sarah Anderson and Nettie Hunter and her husband William Hunter, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 14 cousins, Nora Thaggard of Jackson, Angela Bell, Zacarii Dalcoe and Johnathan Bell, all of Atlanta, Ga., Annie Ruth Anderson of Bellville, Mich., Teddy Spencer of Shreveport, La., Mattie Spencer, Helen Spencer and Linda Spencer, all of Florida, Rita McGee and Mary Kern, both of Los Angeles, Calif., and Ola Mae Anderson, Jeffery Anderson and Henry Lewis Anderson, all of Racine, Wis.; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today, at East Jerusalem Full Gospel Church in Laurel.
Brown Mortuary Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
