Laurel Leader Call, Laurel, MS, February 1985

        Horace Milton Craven, 76, of Route 8, died Saturday at his residence. Funeral was 2 p.m. today at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev Valton Douglas officiated. Mr. Craven, a lifelong resident of Laurel, had retired from Gulf Oil Co and was a former employee of Masonite Corp. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow, Flossie Ishee Craven of Laurel; one daughter Veda Faye Rayborn of Lawrenceville, GA; two stepsons, Jerry Ishee of Ponchatoula, LA and G. B. Ishee of Laurel; one brother J. E. Craven of Laurel; seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The pallbearers were Jay Ishee, David Craven, Richard Craven, Rick Rayborn, Mitch Rayborn and Scott Ishee. Memory Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Tyree Carter
Tyree Carter, 86, of Laurel, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at Providence Hospital in Detroit, Mich.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Calvary Baptist Church in Laurel, with burial in Nora Davis Cemetery. The Rev. Vernon Graves will officiate.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Blonnie Carter; wife, Corine Carter; a sister, Virginia Young; a son, James Carter; and a friend, Retha Mason.
He is survived by three daughters, Jeanette Carter, Rosemary Carter and Lorraine Dexter, all of Detroit; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today, at Calvary Baptist Church.
Brown Mortuary Inc. in Laurel is in charge of arrangements.

Theresa Cooley
Theresa Cooley, 82, of Laurel, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, in Laurel.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, at The Love of God Church in Laurel, with burial in Nora Davis Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from noon-1 p.m. at The Love of God Church.
Dean’s Memorial Funeral Home in Brandon is in charge of arrangements.

Laurel Leader Call, Laurel, MS, 03 Feb 2007

Anthony Conner Jr.
Anthony Conner Jr., 21, of Laurel, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at New Hope Apostolic Church in Soso, with burial in Nora Davis Cemetery in Laurel.
He was a 2004 graduate of Northeast Jones High School.
He is survived by his parents, Mary Bolton and Anthony Conner of Laurel; a brother, Jerry Bolton of Texas; a sister, Destiny Hodges of Laurel; grandparents, Daisy Pruitt, Julia Jones and Manuel Jones; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Young’s Funeral Home in Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements.
