Burtis Ducksworth, 49, of Laurel, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, in Laurel.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Laurel, with burial in Nora Davis Cemetery in Laurel. Dr. S.L. Johnson will officiate.
A retired cook at Winn-Dixie, she was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Grady Ducksworth.
She is survived by her parents, Ezekiel and Mary W. Ducksworth of Laurel; a son, Kevin Ducksworth of Laurel; two daughters, Michelle Ducksworth and Sha’Keta Ducksworth, both of Laurel; five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Paul and Sally Ducksworth of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Charlie Ducksworth of Biloxi and Loyston and Gracie Ducksworth, Purvis Ducksworth and Ezekiel Ducksworth Jr., all of Laurel; and five sisters and a brother-in-law, Mazie Ducksworth and Ella Ruth Ducksworth, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Alice Marie Ducksworth of Biloxi and Myrtis and Foster Priester and Erestine Merrill, all of Laurel.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. today, at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Laurel.
Chapel of Angels Funeral Home in Laurel is in charge of the arrangements.
