Laurel Leader Call, Laurel, MS, 22 Sep 2006

Sylvester Nixon Jr.
Sylvester “Pete” Nixon Jr., 58, of Laurel, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in the Mt. Olive community, with burial in Nora Davis Memorial Gardens. The Rev. S.L. Johnson will officiate.
He is survived by his wife, Glennie L. Nixon of Laurel; three daughters, Deborah Nixon, Janice Terrell and Caroline Gore, all of Laurel; two sons, Albert Nixon and Tony Ray Nixon, both of Laurel; two sisters, Cassie Collins of Louin and Gladys Nixon of Laurel; a brother, Kenneth Nixon of Laurel; and three adopted brothers, the Rev. Roosevelt Jones and Tyrone Jones, both of Bay Springs, and Willie Jones of Mobile, Ala.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Malone Funeral Home in Laurel is in charge of arrangements.

NORRIS,  Lahoma L. Norris, age 66, of Gahanna, died Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. Lahoma was retired from Isaacs Fluid Power Company. Preceded in death by her parents, Mary Nell Shook and Noel Valentine and granddaughter, Rylee Norris. She is survived by her children, Toni Norris, Diana Norris, Steve (Erin) Norris and Scott (Sabina Brescelli) Norris; 4 grandchildren, Savannah, Renee, Brooke and Russ; sister, Mary Allen "Mimi" (Coy) Murphy. She also leaves behind her faithful companions, Katie and MeeBoy. Lahoma was a devoted Cleveland Browns fan and will be sadly missed by many friends, coworkers and neighbors. Per her request, there will be no services. The family requests that contributions be made to the Columbus Zoological Park, 9990 Riverside Drive, P.O. Box 400, Powell, Ohio 43065 in her name. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road.
