Leake County, Mississippi, Losing its laboring People Through Floggings

Jackson, Miss., Jan. 11 - Mississippi is experiencing its first White Cap sensation. The report comes from Leake
County that bands of regulators are riding over the county, whipping both white and black, wherever one is found
whose morals are not up to the proper standard. The good people are using every effort to capture the guilty parties
and put a stop to the cowardly outrages. A large number of Negroes have left the county and farmers are fearful
of being left short of laborers.
