| (26 Jul 1923, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. J. S. McColom (sic) was born in Tippah County, Mississippi, in 1865 and died in Elk City July 19th, 1923. Funeral services were held at the home on Friday, Reverend Wallace of Cordell officiating. Burial was made in the Carter cemetery. Mrs. McColom leaves a husband and nine children.
