Mississippi Baptist Association - The Mississippi Baptist History Commission reports that the early church was begun in Alabama which was comprise of counties in Alabama and Mississippi.  But Coyt Baptist Church is recorded as belonging to the Antioch Baptist Association in 1909-1914, furnished by Rev. Franklin McLelland of the Choctaw County Alabama Baptist Association verify this.  The church is not listed on the statistical pages of the minutes 1915 and 1916.  The Mississippi Baptist Historical Commission reports that Coyt Church belonged to the Liberty Baptist Association in 1916.  The Wayne County Baptist Association was formed on November 22, 1918 with its first associational meeting in October 1919 at First Baptist Church, Buckatunna, Mississippi.

 

Antioch Baptist Association: 1909-1914 - Coyt Baptist Church united with the Association during the afternoon session of October 22nd at 2:30 p.m.  Petitionary Letters were called for and Coytt (sic) Church was received with its messengers being invited to sit in with the council.  This meeting was held at Isney Baptist Church, Choctaw County, Ala.  Jeff Fagan represented the church.  The church's membership total was 23.  G. W. Fagan of Isney, Alabama was reported to be the pastor.  Len Stallworth of Coyt, Mississippi was the church clerk.  Pastor salary was $50.  The church gave $.75 to the Association for minutes.  In 1914 Coyt Baptist Church asked for a letter of dismission from the Association.  Coyt Church was not noted in the 1915 or 1916 minutes.

Liberty Baptist Association - The Mississippi Baptist Historical Commission reports that the early church was begun in Alabama and that it belonged to the Liberty Association which was comprised of counties in Alabama and Mississippi.  As to the fact of stating that the church began in Alabama, that may be because it was chartered by the Hurricane Baptist Church in Hurricane, Choctaw County, Alabama.  Many of the members of the newly Coyt Baptist Church had attended the Hurricane Baptist Church.  Coyt Church belonged to the Liberty Baptist Association in 1916, according to the commission.

Wayne County Baptist Association - The Wayne County Baptist Association was formed on November 22, 1918, with its first associational meeting in October 1919 at First Baptist Church, Buckatunna, Mississippi.  The first listing of Coyt Church in the Wayne County Baptist Association is 1938.
