Obit: Retired Farmer Dies at Girardeau Hospital
Gotfired Weber, 68 years old, a retired farmer of the Pocahontas Community, died of gangrene poisoning at Southwest Missouri Hospial at 10:35 a.m. today. An infection had set up in one of his feet, and an amputation was resorted to early today in an effort to relieve his condition. He had been a patient at the hospital since Monday.
Mr. Weber was born at Altenburg, and lived a number of years near Grand Tower, Ill. He was married there and following Mrs. Weber's death moved back to near Pocahontas. On August 10, 1919, he was married to Lena Bogenpohl, who succumbed Jan. 13, 1932. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Pocahontas, Mo.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Lueck of Springfield, Il., and a son, Evert Weber of near Pocahontas; one brother Adolph Weber of Altenburg and a sister Mrs. George Bohnstedt of near Altenburg. His daughter, Bertha Ida Smith died 1936 in Jacksonville, Il., but lived in Springfield, Il.
George Widdaugh,
aged 28 years, died at his late residence, corner of
Twenty-fifth and Chestnut streets, yesterday, of
pneumonia.
The body was buried at Woodlawn cemetery,
Wyandotte, this morning.

Obit: WINNETT - Mrs. Eleanor, 88 years old, a sister of George W. McClelland, died at the McClelland home, 3112 Troost Avenue [Kansas City, Mo.], at 8 o'clock last night [June 21, 1910]. She was the widow of Hiram Winnett, a pioneer minister in Western Pennsylvania. She came to Kansas City from Pennsylvania in 1892. Since that time she has lived with her brother.
The funeral will be held from the home a 9 o'clock next Thursday. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery [Kansas City, Mo.]. |
