Death of
Henereta Winchell BERRY
W. S. WINCHELL received the sad news the first of the week, of the death of his
sister, Mrs. H. E. BERRY, at her home in Wellsville, Mo., Sept. 3d, 1895, aged
54 years. Deceased was born in this city, Aug. 25, 1841, and was married to Mr.
H. E. BERRY in January 1880. She leaves three brothers, all living in Illinois,
also one sister, who lives in Ladonia, Mssouri, who together with the husband
and the son, Elliott, and a recently adopted daughter mourn her loss. Mrs. BERRY
was a member of the M. E. Church and a kind and noble Christian lady.

Steven Mackey Barker

Wellsville, Missouri, February 13. -- This morning Steven Mackey Barker died from appendicitis.
Mr. Barker was born July 28, 1840, on the James Mackey farm near Chain of Rocks, St. Charles County.
His grandfather, James Mackey, commanded the Spanish Fort at St. Louis during the Spanish War, and built the first brick house in the village of St. Louis, and which afterwards was made a part of the Sacred Heart Convent, recently torn down.
His paternal grandfather served with distinction in the Revolution, participating in all its principal battles.
Mr. Barker was prominent in business and political circles, being cashier of the Wellsville Bank, which position he held since 1878. Before that time he served as County Clerk from 1870 to 1878.
His funeral will be in charge of the Masonic Lodge of this city.

Wellsville, Missouri, February 13. -- S. M. Barker, a prominent citizen and Democrat for eight years clerk of Montgomery County, and for 15 years cashier of Wellsville Bank, died this morning at 7:30.
He will be buried tomorrow afternoon with Masonic honors.
