MARTHA LEE FREY, daughter of the late Benjamin F. Greer and Sara Cordelia Springfield Greer, was born November 15, 1902 in Alton, MO and died September 3, 1998 in West Plains, MO at the age of 95 years, nine months, and 19 days.

On February 13, 1924 she was united in marriage in Alton to Leamon C. Frey, who preceded her in death March 25, 1987.

Survivors include five children, Jewelene Grooms of Thayer, Anna Christene Pauli and husband, John, of Thayer, bobby Dean Frey and wife, Ann, of Saint Charles, Mary Jane Honeycutt and husband, Eddie, of Thayer and Bill Frey and wife, Linda of St. Charles; one brother, Monroe Greer of Thayer; two sisters, Anna Hayes and Mildred Presley, both of Alton; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers and one sister.

She was a member of the Couch Pentecostal Church, a homemaker and a pillar in her community, sharing, caring, and giving of her time and talents.  She was noted for her cooking and enjoyed sharing with her family and her many friends and neighbors.

Funeral services for Martha Frey were held Sunday, September 6, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Rev. Ron Richardson officiating.  Interment was in the New Salem Cemetery of Couch.
