SEDALIA AND VICINITY
First Church - Sunday was a great day. Pastor R.L. Davidson who has been absent in France for a year in Y.M.C.A. work returned on an early morning train and spoke both morning and evening to an immense audience that filled every available space. Many were unable to gain admittance. Among other things, Pastor Davidson said was we had licked the kaiser and it had given him courage to believe we could lick the devil, and we must begin the attack at once in Sedalia. He testified in the saving grace of Jesus Christ and paid a great tribute to the American soldier. There was 647 in Sunday school. On Thursday evening the church will give a reception to the pastor to which the editors of the Word and Way are invited. Dan Dean superintendent of our Bible school, has been very fortunate in securing the services of Mrs. James Matthews, a graduate of the State Normal, to conduct a class in Bible story.
East Church - Preaching by pastor C.H. Robinson. The young ladies mission circle and the woman's mission society will each send a delegate to the commencement exercises of the training School in Louisville. The church is re-roofing and remodeling the Northeast Mission Building.
LaMonte - One of the best days in the history of the church; 146 in Sunday School; The church made an offering of $452.50 to enlarge the building. The District Mission will probably add 25 per cent to that amount. Pastor L.E. Hedrick has words of praise for the membership.
Green Ridge - In appreciation of their pastor this church assisted in sending him to the Northern Baptist Convention which met at Denver. The church will plan for beginning a series of meetings soon.
Mount Herman - Harmoney Association Gospel Team No. 2 held session at this place both morning and evening Sunday, a deep interest prevails. Harmoney Association expects to send an evangelist to commence a series of meeting at this place soon.
