In 1908 additional land was acquired and plotted; a trust fund of five hundred dollars was established to care for the ground. The first grave stone that can be found shows the name of Ross, 1868 and is located just south of the church. Tom Pinkerton served as first chairman for his life time; B. M. Kincaid was elected to succeed him, then W. H. Frazier. In 1926 deeds were given for lots purchased. In 1969 maore land owned by the Cemetery Association was plotted for sale. (Alfred McKemy) Often this cemetery is refered to as New Hope Cemetery, Hardin. There are two New Hope Cemeteries located in Ray County. The other is the New Hope Primative Baptist Church located in Richmond Township. This cemetery is still in use. (2009) |
