Moved Remains
The remains of four members of the Whitmer family, who had been interred in the old Whitmer cemetery on the home place south of Richmond, were removed to the Whitmer lot in the city cemetery, Tuesday, by the Mansur Undertaking Company.

Per a Whitmer descendant, the remains were moved to the city cemetery knowing that the graves would be taken care of. There is still an infant buried in the Whitmer cemetery and there used to be an iron fence surrounding the grave. (2012)
