Organized February 25, 1845. Named for Governor Thomas Reynolds of Howard county, who committed suicide while in office, February 9, 1844.
Centerville, county seat of Reynolds county selected by Ayers Hudspeth, of Washington; John Miller, of Madison; and Moses Carty, of St. Francois.
