WILLIAM "BILL" WEISS
William "Bill" Weiss of Doe Run was born March 21, 1890 in
Doe Run and passed away Sunday, May 14, 1978 at the
Mineral Area Osteopathic Hospital at the age of 88.
He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Weiss.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Golda West Weiss and
a son, Troy Weiss, and a daughter, Beulah Weiss.
Surviving are four sons: Tilman Weiss, Bismarck; Clifton
Weiss, California; J. L. Weiss. Desloge; Dale Weiss,
Arnold; twenty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren;
one sister, Lillie Paul, Farmington.
Funeral services were at Caldwell Chapel Wednesday, May
17, 1978 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. James Marler
officiating.
Interment was at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Bismarck
under the direction of Caldwell Funeral Home.

Susan Elizabeth Hilton Wells
Susan Elizabeth Wells, widow of the late F.E. Wells, Sr., died on
Monday, December 9, 1940, at her home near Desloge, following a short
illness, at the advanced age of 90 years, 9 months, 29 days.
Elizabeth Hilton was born on February 10, 1850. She was married to
Franklin E. Wells, September 1, 1868, and they were the parents of nine
children, who survive: Mary Jane (Mrs. J. E. [T.] Forshee, Margaret (Mrs.
John) Murphy, Gertie (Mrs. N.) LaRose, Sue (Mrs. H.) Patterson, Maude (Mrs.
E.C) Eaves, and Frank E. Wells Jr., all of Desloge; Martha (Mrs. William)
Jarrells of Farmington',Bertha (Mrs. N.) Jarrells of Elvins, Mae (Mrs. R.)
Masden of Danville, Ill.
The husband and father preceded her in death on April 26, 1937. Besides her
children, thirty-one grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren mourn
her passing together with other relatives and many friends.
She was converted in early womanhood and united with the Desloge Baptist
Church, where funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., conducted
by pastor, Rev. R.R. Watts pastor of the Cantwell Baptist Church. A quartet
composed of Chester Holley, Earl Whitener, Miss Jean Jennings and Mrs. Julia
Morris, sang several selections, accompanied at the piano be Miss Vivian
Turner. Interment was in the St. Francois Cemetery. Boyer Service.

Alvin J. Whitaker
Alvin J. Whitaker of 1131 North Main, Desloge died Nov. 16
at the Mineral Area Osteopathic Hospital at the age of 91 years and 11 days. He was born Nov. 5, 1877 in Crawford
County to the late James and Elizabeth Fulton Whitaker. He was married to Dora Harmon and she preceded him in death.
Later he was married to Agnes Byington in 1923, who survives. Also surviving are: the following children, Ernest Whitaker
and Willie Whitaker of Bonne Terre, Edith Todd of St. Louis, Fanny Counts and Virgle Hawkins of Bonne Terre; step children,
Clyde Byington of Bell Gardens, Calif., Mildred Rawson of Bonne Terre, Bernice Radford of Highley Heights; one brother, Elbert
Whitaker of East St. Louis, Ill.; one sister, Millie (Mrs. Leo Cash) of Valles Mines; 30 grandchildren; and 15 step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons and one daughter. He was a member fo the Bonne Terre Church of God. Funeral services will be
Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Bonne Terre Church of God with the Rev. John W. Padgett officiating. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery
on Rt. 2, Bonne Terre. The body is in state at the Dale Sparks Chapel in Bonne Terre.

George Edward Whitt
Mr. George Whitt died Wednesday, May 7, at his home in
Bismarck. Services were held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Bismarck Baptist Church with
interment in the family lot in the Caledonia Presbyterian Cemetery. He is survived by one brother,
Bob Whitt of Ironton, two sisters and several children. White's Funeral Home of Ironton was in charge.

Royce Lynn Whitt
Royce Lynn Whitt of Frankclay, passed away August 6,
1981 at the Arcadia Valley Hospital at the age of 75. He was born May 27, 1906 in Wortham to George and
Lidda Bell (Hays) Whitt. He was married to Opal Whitt, who preceded him in death. He is survived by one
son, Harold Whitt of Desloge; one daughter-in-law, Norma Jean Whitt of Desloge and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Sue Granzella. Services were Sunday, August 9, at 2 p.m.
at the Frankclay Methodist Church with Rev. Don Stanley officiating, assisted by Rev. Denton. Masonic
services were Saturday, August 8 at 7 p.m. Interment was in Hillview Memorial Gardens under the direction
of Bert Boyer Funeral Home Leadwood.

William Edward Williams
William Edward Williams of Rt. 33, Flat River, Mo., passed away at his
home on April 29, 1991, at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 7 days. He
was born June 22, 1927, in Mineral Point, Mo., to the late William W. and
Bertha Mae (Pitts) Williams. William was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having
served his country during World War II. He was also a member of the Solid
Rock Gospel Church. He was united in marriage to Minnie Dempsey on May 3,
1948, in Pickett, Arkansas, and eight children were born to this union. In
addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and
Everett Williams and two sisters, Rosie Williams and Ethel LaChance. Those
who remain to mourn his passing are his loving and devoted wife, Minnie
Williams; five sons, Michael Williams and wife, Debora of Irondale, Tommie
Williams and wife, Dorothy of Flat River, Bruce Williams and wife, Kay of
Irondale, Bill Williams of Flat River and Randy Williams and wife Debra of
BB Hwy.; three daughters, Connie (Mrs. Joseph Ramsey) of Irondale, Deborah
(Mrs. Ernest O'Neail) of Flat River and Sharon (Mrs. Brent Goad) of Bonne
Terre; two brothers, Harold Williams of Mitchell, Mo., and Charles Williams
of Frankclay; two sisters, Dorothy Tesreau of Esther and Ollie Spence of
Dexter; 29 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and
other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m.
Wednesday, May 1, at Britton Chapel, Potosi, with Rev. Dave Wideman
officiating. Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of
the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi. Serving as pallbearers were: Michael
Edward Williams, William Nelson Williams, Ernest O'Neail, Brent Goad, Joseph
Ramsey and Steve O'Neail.
